Ubisoft Quartz Beta Launches This Week, Here is All You Need to Know About it!

Recently, we covered an article which revolved around the interest of Ubisoft in blockchain gaming and NFT’s. Today, developers and game publishers announced their own new platform called Quartz.

Quartz is a platform where players can acquire Digits which is Ubisoft’s first NFT’s available in an AAA game title. And it has been released as a part of limited edition i:e each NFT’s consists of a fixed number of cosmetic items.

Ubisoft highlighted that Digits will be tied solely to cosmetic items, and thus will have no effect on gameplay. In addition, to address common environmental concerns about blockchain technology, Quartz is built on the Tezos Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism, which differs significantly from Proof-of-Work blockchain technologies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Quartz is launching this tomorrow i:e 9th December at 6PM (UTC) only in the USA, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Australia, and Brazil. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be released on PC via Ubisoft Connect along with three drops of free Digits available on December 9th, December 12th, and December 15th as a prize for early adopters. Also, it will be available to 18+ players who have reached Level 5 in Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Breakpoint only.

Ubisoft said: “Digits are a new way to experience cosmetic items, combining the fun of playing with AAA quality assets and the thrill of owning NFTs that represent unique, collectible pieces of Ubisoft game worlds.””Ubisoft Quartz is the first building block in our ambitious vision for developing a true metaverse. And it can’t come to life without overcoming blockchain’s early-form limitations for gaming, including scalability and energy consumption.”
