The Game Awards 2021 Will Be Back With A Live Audience, How To Watch It and More!
The Game Awards 2021 hosted by Geoff Keighley will be back again with a live audience. Learn more about this year’s instalment of the annual awards show.
The Game Awards 2021 will be streamed live from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, on December 9, 2021. Unlike last year, this year the event will be in person. However, the attendees would be invite only. With just a week remaining for the actual ceremony, the social media handles of The Game Awards as well as host Geoff Keighley, are all buzzing with updates of all kinds.
Here is a brief rundown of what we, so far know about the annual event and what is in store for us.
When Does The Game Awards 2021 Start?
The official live stream for the event will begin on December 9, 2021 at 4:30 PM PT (i.e., 7:30 PM ET or 6:00 AM IST on December 10, 2021), with a pre-show. This will be followed up by the main event at 5:00 PM PT (i.e., 8:00 PM ET or 6:30 AM IST on December 10, 2021). Award winners from across thirty different categories will be announced, during the event.
According to an interview of Geoff Keighley with Epic Games, announcements involving “40 to 50 games” will be featured during the event. Keighley also mentioned that the number of brand new titles that would be announced at the show would be “probably in the double digits”.

What Can You Expect?
The nominations for The Game Awards 2021 were earlier announced by Geoff Keighley. Read more about this year’s nominations here. In addition to the awards presentation, The Game Awards 2021 will also stand witness to the many games and video game trailers that will be premiering as well as the return of The Game Awards Orchestra, along with “first look world premieres and new game announcements”.
Now, as the event draws closer, we get to learn more about the presenters and the performances that we can expect from this year’s star studded event. Going by the previous years’ this year too, is sure to be a grand affair. However, as of now we know that Sting will be performing live his “What Could Have Been” from the hit League of Legends origins story, streaming on Netflix, Arcane.

In addition to that, actor Simu Liu of Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings fame, will also be presenting an award. While it has not yet been revealed as to the award that he will be presenting, it is still exciting news.

Where To Watch The Game Awards 2021 Live Stream?
The Game Awards 2021 will be streamed live from their official Twitch and YouTube channels. In addition to that, there will also be direct feeds on the social media sites, such as on TikTok, Twitter and even Facebook.
Through Oculus Venues, Oculus will be showing a 180 degree VR experience On the other hand, Steam will be showing the event, in addition to the Game Awards Festival and offer select demos on some of the upcoming games.
The Game Awards have also selected a handful of YouTube channels and Facebook and Twitch streamers as official co streamers for the event. You can find the complete list of the official co streamers, right here. The list will be updated as the event draws closer.
The Game Awards is an annual event held to honor and recognize all the contributions that are made, all around year, in the video gaming industry.
