Facebook has announced that starting December 17, 2021, Brazil and Paris Saint Germain F. C. star Neymar Jr will be streaming games exclusively on Facebook Gaming along with sharing video and content with his Instagram followers, as well.

Speaking about this partnership, Neymar Jr, opens up saying, “The gaming world has always been one of my greatest passions after football, and I can barely wait to hang out and have fun with everyone who also shares this passion”.

The football star has more than two hundred and fifty four million followers on Facebook and Instagram, and now with this collaboration, the social media giant will be reaching out to a wider and broader set of audience.

Strategic Partner Manager at Facebook Gaming, William Pimenta states, “Neymar Jr is one of the biggest sports stars in the world and no stranger to gaming or livestreaming”. Further adding that, “We’re excited to welcome Neymar Jr to Facebook Gaming where he can connect with his global fans through games. Like football, gaming brings people together across borders and languages. And our global approach to supporting creators is one of the things that makes Facebook Gaming special”.

Neymar Jr Joins Facebook Gaming

Starting December 17, 2021, with the first stream going live at 2:00 PM ET, Neymar Jr will be streaming games, multiple times a month. And once every month, the football star will be streaming with a different creator.

However, if you are expecting the PSG poster boy to stream FIFA, you might be in for a surprise. That is because the footballer has earlier been noted to stream Call of Duty and Counter-Strike, on Twitch. And Fortnite too cannot be ruled out from the games he might stream in the future, seeing how he had earlier made an appearance in the game.

Now, while this deal will in no way shift the streaming supremacy that Twitch and YouTube currently enjoy, this move could very well led to larger audiences flocking to Facebook Gaming and thereby increasing the platform’s profile.
