Dark Souls Crowned As The ‘Ultimate Game Of All Time’ At The Golden Joystick Awards 2021

FormSoftware’s Dark Souls won the coveted ‘Ultimate Game Of All Time’ award at this year’s Golden Joystick Awards.

The Golden Joystick Awards presented by Games Radar took place on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. The annual event recognizes and commemorates the talent and innovation in the gaming industry and the winners are decided via public voting.

This year, to celebrate fifty years of gaming, The Golden Joystick Awards had two special categories, namely, the Best Gaming Hardware of All Time, and, the Ultimate Game of All Time. The PC was declared the winner in the first of the two categories and Gabe Newell in his acceptance speech said, “Gamers and developers have benefited enormously from the relentless innovation in PC gaming hardware”. And seeing how the PC outpaces and predates any consoles out there, this acknowledgement was absolutely apt.

As for the second category, Dark Souls developed by FormSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, won the Ultimate Game of All Time. The action RPG was nominated alongside tiles such as GTA V, Doom, Halo: Combat Evolved and Minecraft, and was voted by fans, as the winner.
